The journey we took to finish the was survey very challenging. Firstly, given the number of total households, we had a hard time “sweeping” some of the houses in which we were not able to interview on our firsts days. Secondly, the distance some houses took us about 20-30 minutes of trekking to reach each and everyone of them specially in sectors 6 and 7 because the the volume of houses were small but the land area was big in mountain areas of the barangay. Lastly, only half of the group knows to speak “bisaya” fluently, the spoken dialect plays a big factor to get accurate data, and the rest of us learned to speak their language at the end. The journey was tough but we learned a lot.
There were also good points in this exposure, there were a lots of great sceneries in the barangay that we not didn’t had the chance to see in our first Immersion. Finally, the residents and barangay officials became closer and open obout their concerns and needs. There were a lot of good reasons to love this exposure but these were the one we consider most valuable.
