January 2020: New Year, 3rd Exposure

Barangay Motibot has taken a step into becoming a frontier for change. For this exposure, problems centered on the hypertension, emergency response, toilet facilities, SWM, tuberculosis and pet ownership have been set in motion. These plans evoked a sense of fulfillment, not only on the part of the health workers involved, but also for the residents themselves because they’ve come to get themselves involved.

This exposure centered on coordination and cooperation. Countless letters have been sent and addressed to the municipality’s mayor and the barangay’s council for the fulfillment of projects that really needed support for their fruition. However, no journey is guaranteed absolute perfection. Still, roadblocks were encountered along the way of our plans and these roadblocks really reflect the people’s capacity for accepting change as well as their cooperation. Some council members are  polar and aloof which played a major part in some delays and setbacks. But, due to the cumulative effort and resourcefulness of our group, we managed to push through and delivered good results.
Some of the activities included health teaching caravans encompassing the above mentioned key problems and postage of IEC materials to campaign for our projects. In addition to what was stated, the biggest highlights were out zumba sessions, our BLS training and SWM campaign which took a huge toll on our physical and mental capacities.

The exposure wasn’t as smooth sailing as we hoped for it to be, but it was fulfilling to see many people getting involved in our zumba sessions and health teaching sessions with members of the 4P’s and in schools. Hopefully, the momentum for the group can continue to progress in order to build an established and healthier Motibot.
