In an effort to realize the vision of immediately responding and rendering basic first aid during medical emergencies, various plans and activities were made through the years. Since the core team was already trained and basic supplies and equipment were already acquired, the team focused on completing the essential supplies and equipment for this exposure.
Supplies and equipment procured include a transport vehicle, stretcher, oxygen tank, neck brace, splints, bandages, cravats, and first aid kits. The council has committed to the maintenance of medical supplies and equipments which they have included in their annual budget.
Also, to reach the citizens of Upper Motibot who live in the highlands of the barangay, a Satellite Health Station was designated in Sector 6. This will serve as a hub for rendering basic first aid and appropriate referral during medical emergencies to address the limitation and gap in distance.
Monitoring and evaluation of services rendered are being conducted as well. The BHERT has catered medical emergencies such as hypertension-related emergencies, vehicular accidents, pregnancy-related emergencies, COVID-related emergencies, and others. They provide first aid management and immediate transport to appropriate referral facilities.
This project fosters availability of medical services for those seeking emergent care. After a few years of cumulative effort, profound gratitude is allocated for those who entrusted themselves in the fruition and continuity of our project. Finally, our vision of having a functional health emergency response system is being realized.
